DSGN* Presents: FRSH+BTS Web Site + Identity

FRSH+BTS functions as my other portfolio, for music. The problem with my previous designs were that they were too "clunky" and such. Really though, the more I learn with web design, and the constantly changing technologies, the more I want to play around with new things. For example, the site is optimized for mobile devices (this is showcased in the video above). Please visit FRSH+BTS on your mobile phone / tablet, and tell me what you think, either via my personal or FRSH+BTS Twitter account.

If there is anything I carried over from the previous iteration of the site, it was that the focus of the site should be the music, so the album / EP covers are displayed front and center.

In addition to completely redesigning the site from the ground up, I also felt the need to create a new logo. For FRSH+BTS, I had not done anything to the logo since the initial conception of it, which was probably around 2004 — definitely in sore need of an update.

My fascination of space and futuristic technology is a recurring theme in my music (and design of course), so I designed the FRSH+BTS logo to look as if it could be something found on a faraway planet. The "F" and the "B" are simply three lines. When the letters overlap, it creates the Heaven / Sky trigram, "Qián" (I created ten different versions of these placeholders for the site ... will be available later as iPhone-optimized wallpapers).

There is more to discover on my music portfolio, like the blog, where I post whatever I deem important, relevant, and humorous in the music industry. Also, if you dig what comes through your speakers, you can also contact me for collaborations and such.
