This is actually just an extension of a house in Tokyo. The name ‘nunchakun’ is a combination of the shape of logs, like nunchuks, which are flexible.
The new addition allows for natural light to enter the house. The shape kind of looks like a command center.

These contour blinds are the creation of Helena Karelson, a designer from London.
From her site : “When the slats are in the horizontal position light filters through the irregular gaps, projecting a rich tapestry of sunbeams into the interior space.
In the vertical position the light from behind the window frames the blinds perfectly in a subtle, warm glow.”

International design firm KallosTurin designed this private residence in Los Altos, California.
I love natural light so having lots of big windows and skylights is a big plus in my book. The high walls provide much-needed privacy.
