Paul Webb DSGN Journal - Nunchakun via Suwa Architects 01

This is actually just an extension of a house in Tokyo. The name ‘nunchakun’ is a combination of the shape of logs, like nunchuks, which are flexible.

The new addition allows for natural light to enter the house. The shape kind of looks like a command center.

Paul Webb DSGN Journal - Contour Blinds 01

These contour blinds are the creation of Helena Karelson, a designer from London.

From her site : “When the slats are in the horizontal position light filters through the irregular gaps, projecting a rich tapestry of sunbeams into the interior space.

In the vertical position the light from behind the window frames the blinds perfectly in a subtle, warm glow.”

Helena will have ordering info on her site in due time. I’ll try to remember to keep checking back because I really want these, as I am all about natural light.

I love natural light so having lots of big windows and skylights is a big plus in my book. The high walls provide much-needed privacy.

Don’t you love that second floor? This house looks amazing from the outside. It makes you want to explore the inside more thoroughly.
