Paul Webb DSGN Journal - DJ Desks via METROFARM 01

METROFARM is a studio collective based in Berlin that specializes in built to order DJ desks, among other things.

This first desk is made of folded stainless steel.

However, this veneered one is my favorite of the bunch. Just look at that detail, scrumptious!

Regular followers of my blog will know that I have a thing for concrete as a building material so it comes as no surprise that this particular DJ desk with concrete legs and a linoleum middle part is easily another favorite.

The only downside to having a custom built DJ desk is that there’s probably no way to switch out the turntables if you want to upgrade or try another brand’s. On the other hand, if you DJ regularly, you probably have a good idea of what you like to use for your sets.

Be sure to peruse the rest of METROFARM’s site, as they have a good amount of other projects/furniture on display.

Flip Table by Signe Baadsgaard

Paul Webb DSGN Journal - Flip Table by Signe Baadsgaard 01

Problem : You’re short on space, and you don’t have room for a dedicated workstation at home. As a result, paperwork lies like a patchwork of worries over the kitchen table, where it quickly becomes an irritation.

When it’s time to eat, you stack all the papers at the one end, losing any semblance of organization or sense of progress.

This is *my* problem and as I look around my room, I could definitely benefit from having a table such as this.

Sketches, mockups, lyrics, and a myriad of ideas scribbled onto various sheets of paper shoved into books and stacked into piles is what I’m currently dealing with.

For pricing you’ll have to contact No Problem yourself. I plan on doing so when I get my studio together.

Organized Mess Desk

Paul Webb DSGN Journal - Organized Mess Desk 01

This is a small home desk which allows organization of all the daily used items, thanks to a series of steel trays, hooks and panels.

Materials used are oak wood, painted steel, and the surface of the desk is laminated. I would like all desks to have a hideaway section for computer cords and such like this.

Jun Yasumoto has some other nice pieces of furniture on his site, definitely check him out.
