DSGN*

I am Paul Anthony Webb and I work as a creative professional. Due to a highly visual mind, I am able to provide new concepts and ideas effortlessly, enabling quick turnaround (perfect for deadlines and the like). In addition, I provide Design Services for Good Natured people. See what I did there? Take a look through my portfolio and see what I can do for you and your business.

UPDATE: I am a design apprentice at thoughtbot, a web development studio here in Boston, MA. The people at thoughtbot are pretty much the best (certainly in Massachusetts anyway). I am learning a lot and being mentored by many talented folks. Watch this space for awesomeness!

Graphic design is a way of expressing myself, and, to better communicate and share what I see in my mind with other people. My proficiency in front-end web development is a result of a past frustration ... I wanted an original look for my websites but none of what I found was "good enough". You know what they say: If you want something done right, you have to do it yourself! Fortunately, I am stubborn enough to hammer away at problems I do not understand until I get it.

All of my web projects are valid, hand-coded HTML (HyperText Markup Language) and CSS (Cascading Style Sheet). The tools of my trade are Adobe's Photoshop, Opera's web browser (along with every major browser for site testing), Snapple (or an iced tea), and an awesome sandwich.

My life experiences have given me a unique eye for what "works" and what does not work so well. I wish I could explain that in simpler terms but well, that is what this site is here for. Let me know if you have any questions!

Here's more (but irrelevant) information:

For some reason, I am fascinated obsessed with s p a c e.

I am a lefty and I hold my pencils a bit peculiarly. I am a super proud Aries and Dragon (in both zodiacs, these are essentially the same animal). My favorite foods are Virginia glazed ham, pecan pie, waffles, grits, candy corn, egg nog, and tomatoes ... certainly not in that order, and not all of them at one time (yuck!).

Mega Man Battle Network, Samurai Champloo, and Ghost in the Shell are some of my favorite Japanese exports and I would *love* to live there. In fact, I taught myself how to use chopsticks while watching the Tenchi Muyo anime, back when Toonami on Cartoon Network was relevant and awesome. Ah, the good ol' days.

In addition to web and graphic design, I also make music under the alias, "the Wibby". Download some free tunes and scrobble 'em on Last.FM! If you like 8-bit / House / Lounge / Hip Hop / Soundtrack-style music, you'll love the free EPs.
