Happy V-Day! This is a collection of House-inspired + infused Lounge soundscapes designed for listening with your significant other [and / or before heading to a party / club].

Finally, my opus is finished! You can freely download this album [or stream it if you prefer] on my music site. Also, this compilation marks the first official release from “The Kitchen Collective”, my indie record label. Expect more aural delights later on in the year!

Also, I updated the home page of my portfolio, look for the pound [#] sign. It’s called, “Music Ideas”. I hope that now I’m finished with this particular project that I can work on more design-related things.

EDIT : The original release was rushed and the quality of the music suffered because of it. You shouldn’t sacrifice your vision for the sake of impatientness! Also, you can check out Last.FM and stream/download from there as well.

Paul Webb DSGN Journal - Linos LP Player Concept 01

This innovative concept by Charlie Pyott *needs* to be made. An ultra-portable record player like this would be a hit at parties for sure. Check out more action shots after this.

Be sure to check out Charlie’s site for a rundown of the actual operation, it’s pretty nifty.

Paul Webb DSGN Journal - DJ Desks via METROFARM 01

METROFARM is a studio collective based in Berlin that specializes in built to order DJ desks, among other things.

This first desk is made of folded stainless steel.

However, this veneered one is my favorite of the bunch. Just look at that detail, scrumptious!

Regular followers of my blog will know that I have a thing for concrete as a building material so it comes as no surprise that this particular DJ desk with concrete legs and a linoleum middle part is easily another favorite.

The only downside to having a custom built DJ desk is that there’s probably no way to switch out the turntables if you want to upgrade or try another brand’s. On the other hand, if you DJ regularly, you probably have a good idea of what you like to use for your sets.

Be sure to peruse the rest of METROFARM’s site, as they have a good amount of other projects/furniture on display.
