As slightly imprac­ti­cal as this con­cept may be, Mac Funamizu envi­sions a world where trav­el­ers and other peo­ple who are not accus­tomed to a country’s cur­rency would be able to eas­ily remem­ber how much each of these coins are worth — just as long as s/he knows how to read pie charts.

Here are some pre­views of each coin. The quar­ter and half-dollar might not be com­fort­able in pock­ets, espe­cially if you have a bunch of them.

Like the 1 and 5 cent pieces, hav­ing sec­tions cut out of the metal or maybe siz­able dots poked through could be the rem­edy for the two afore­men­tioned prob­lem pieces.
